I am what you need.  Your spirit recognizes that truth and cries out for Me.  You may try to meet that craving for Me with other things…with activity, food, friends, entertainment…there is a myriad of ways to try to satisfy that longing.  They will never satisfy like I can.  They will never leave you filled.  They are not the real thing you long for so you will still be hungry.  Recognize what you are truly hungry for.  The life in you needs real nourishment.  It needs to feed on the goodness of the Lord.  “Taste and see that the Lord is good.”  I invite those who are thirsty to come and drink deeply of the Living Waters, to eat of the Bread of Life.  “Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good.  Your soul will delight in the richest of fares.”

Substitutes will never meet this need.  They will leave you unsatisfied but you will have spent your time, your energy, on those substitutes.  Stop.  Come to Me first.  Let Me fill you.  Drink in My Presence.  Feed on My Word.  I long for you as you long for Me.  When you delight in My Presence, I am delighted.  Just as seeing someone enjoying a meal that has been prepared for them brings joy to those who have prepared it, so seeing My children feed on the good things I have prepared for them brings Me joy.

There is row after row of cars in countless store parking lots looking for more stuff, restaurants serving oversized portions to endless streams of people, Double Gulps, venti lattes, Supersized meals, entertainment venues are packed.  Media cries out through every way imaginable…on your phone, on your computer, on your TV, in the theater, over the air waves…a whole culture luring you with the latest and greatest, the newest and nicest, the biggest and best.  The endless options to fill your day with activity are all around you.  But your spirit is still crying out for what it really longs for.  You are in this world but not of it.  You are the salt and light.

Excess is not abundance.  I have abundant life for you, coming out of the overflow of our relationship, of what I pour into you.  It is different than this overfilled, over-sized, over-extended life, always demanding more, more, more…always promising more, more, more but never delivering, never satisfying.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good.”  It is an invitation to drink of my goodness and be filled…be satisfied.  I lead you beside the still waters.  I invite you to “Be still and know that I am God.”  Do your work as unto the Lord and then partake of My rest.  There will always be more to do, more to see, more to try.  There is this call to “Be all that you can be,” but I say Be who I have made you to be.  You learn who that is by being with Me, spending time with Me, asking Me.  Come to My Table and see what I have prepared for you.  In My Presence, you will find the fullness of joy and that joy is your strength.  You will find what your spirit longs for.  You will be satisfied.
