Pursue excellence - pursue the ways of excellence.  "Be excellent at what is good, be innocent of evil ..." (Romans 16:19)

What is good, you ask? "He has shown you oh man, what is good, and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8)

The LORD's requirements are good, not evil.

The LORD's requirements are good, not burdensome, but neither are they trivial.

Be excellent at the good commands of the LORD.

The LORD gives you commands but also gives 'graces' where "you will be blessed if you do these things." (John 13:17)

"Excel in this grace of giving ... just as you excel in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love." (2 Corinthians 8:7)
