Faith & Presumption
Mar 14, 2009
Beloved Ones, there is a fine line between faith and presumption. Faith has SUBSTANCE and EVIDENCE. There is a physical reality with practical value as proof of faith's existence. Faith HAS whatever things it asks for in prayer. Presumption has a "name it and claim it" mentality, but lacks the power to accomplish its intended desire. It has a belief without actual evidence.
So, what causes this fine line differential? Double-mindedness (acting in contrasting or opposing ways)! A double-minded man is unstable (not firm, solid, fixed; likely to fall, collapse, or sway; lacking stability; changeable, unsteady in purpose or intent). A double-minded person is one who is a hearer of the word of faith, but not a doer of it. There is a breakdown of faith between the hearing and the doing which allows an opportunity of unbelief to rob one of the power of an endless life.
This "power of an endless life" is resurrection power...power that comes through the cross and a life of sacrificial obedience to keep My commandments. This is the love of God that carries a victorious, believing, conquering faith. Whatever is "born of God" carries My seed in it...it is the word made flesh. This is true faith...faith that has power, substance, and evidence. Presumption is an empty word...empty of My power...empty of substance and evidence. A fasted lifestyle in obedience to My word and out of love for Me (not according to the law of a fleshly commandment) is the path of faith to the power of an endless life. It is walking the walk and not just talking the talk. What you do in secret will be rewarded openly.
