Running Late

Jul 10, 2011

I was running late for church this morning. But as I readied myself, I was thinking about praying today for my granddaughter.

Without even getting my makeup on I knew the Lord told me to write the prayer out that I was to pray over her so as to not forget anything the Lord was giving me to pray.  I knew it would run me late but I quickly went to the computer to type out my prayer.  Once finished, I printed it and I felt the Lord tell me to check my email.

Although it put me later, I checked and found nothing.  Not feeling I should be ungrateful, I thanked God for whatever reason there was for my delay.

Once in the car I took a minute to put on some powder and lipstick before pulling out of the driveway.

It wasn’t but a few minutes for me to appreciate the quick prayer of “thank you for my delay” and to understand why.  As I approached the park I pass on my way there were two police cars in the left lane.  As I got closer and passed, there was a pickup headed the wrong direction and the bed on the drivers’ side completely crumpled.

Again, I said thank you to the Lord for saving me from any involvement in that wreck.

God is a great God.
