Alpha is not meeting this winter. The ministry is being revamped at this time.
Here's the deal. I met Dave Smeltzer, pastor of the Cambridge Vineyard in Mass. He too is a devoted user of Alpha with one previso - too many Britishisms. Lots of the illustrations and humor doesn't work for Americans. He rewrote the material into American and called it SEEK. Dave asked Alpha USA for their blessing and sanction, but, behold, they would not give it. This fall we are revamping our Alpha Team, adding new team participants and re-uping many of our old leadership, but we are going to venture out and experiment with using SEEK. Yes, we will attend the Alpha training with our team members in October and November. But we will use the SEEK material when we offer "Alpha" in January of 2011.
