Testimony of Healing

Jan 25, 2011

Many people heard this past Sunday about the healing that took place during the Youth Worship night.  The team from Youth With a Mission was there, and one of their members got healed miraculously during the prayer time.  What a powerful time in God's presence.

Here is more of the story, this time in Michelle's own words:

I started feeling lower abdominal pain back in June. We didn't have medical insurance so we started looking around to get insurance. We had a guy in our house ready to sign the paper work for insurance and we both got a check in our spirit that we were relying on the insurance to save us rather then God taking care of us.

We have been challenged lately to go against how America tells us we should live and rather live the way God has called us to live, and we felt that getting insurance just because the rest of America says you have to isn't a good enough reason. So we didn't sign the paper work and instead got on our knees in our kitchen and told God we fully trust him, that he would provide the finances or he would heal me.

So i made an appointment with a doctor in Texas. Prayed before going into my appointment, and the doctor kept asking me how I found him and I told him the internet, thinking nothing of it. After examining me he took me into his office and for the next hour he ministered to me. Quoting scriptures and telling me that if i treat my body as God's temple and do my part in taking care of myself, God will do the rest. For a whole hour the doctor became Jesus in the flesh to me. It was as if God was sitting right there saying my child I love you, do not fear I will take care of you. The diagnosis turned out being a prolapsed bladder and uterus, as well as some reconstructive surgery, from damage done during child labor.

But at that point the diagnosis didn't matter. It now became about the journey. My husband and I decided healing or not, God deserves the glory for my life, that even if I have to live with this condition for the rest of my life, I would still continue to accomplish the call God has on my life, and that I would not let satan make this a hinderance for me, but rather an opportunity to rely more on Jesus.

Dont get me wrong. The journey seemed forever. There were many nights of tears and fears, but as a husband and wife we stood our ground and believed that God is a good God and that he would take care of me. I planned to see a doctor friend in Chicago on our outreach just for a second opinion, and maybe in hopes that he would be willing to do the surgery if that was the route we were to take.

Our first stop was your church. Our whole team was in the front, people were getting prayed for and I was handing out tissues to everyone. Then all of a sudden the guy (I forget his name) asks does anyone need prayer for anything specific, and my hand went up right away. Side note that was not my personality. I am a sit at the back, don't burden anyone with your problems type of gal. And my hand went straight up, I told him my problem and he and a couple women prayed over me. For the next week my thoughts struggled with healing. Why God heals some people and not others. That I felt unworthy to be healed.

But my husband corrected me and said if God wants to use you by healing you miraculously then you accept it. So my prayer was that however God was going to take care of me it would be in a way that would give him the most glory!

I saw our Doctor friend in Chicago (who is a believer) a week after I got prayed for. I sat in his office and told him all the symptoms I have been having. We talked about surgery, recovery, ect. And then we told him about getting prayed over and that I have had no symptoms or pain since that day. He took me into the examining room, examined me and kept saying, "You're doing good." I finally said, "What does that mean?" He said, "You're 100% healed."

There is no previous or current sign of prolapse. We stand in awe of the great and mighty God we serve. As humans I think we get caught up in the end result when I think God is concerned on the process of getting there. It is important to give God praise and glory during the journey because as soon as we arrive at the end of that one there will always be another one! Thank you church for believing with me and being obedient in what God has called you guys to do!
