Some thoughts from our Mexico mission trip

- One of the first things you notice when approaching the colonia of Vamos Tamaulipas, besides the abject poverty, is the contradictorily hopeful character of its residents that is immediately obvious in their carefully chosen street names. These are a humble, but resilient people who have boldly declared their expectant sense of community through street names such as Compartir (To Share), Alegria (Happiness), Libertad (Freedom), Bondad (Kindness), Autenticidad (Authenticity), Esfuerzo (Vigor of Spirit), Educacion (Education), Agradecimiento (Gratitude), Paciencia (Patience), Arte (Skill), Perseverancia (Perseverance), Seguridad (Safety), Consciencia (Conscience), Integracion (Integration), Familia (Family), Trabajo (Work), and Salud (Good Health). Everytime I go to their little community, I am affected by the simplicity of their humble hospitality and my character becomes a little more transformed. - The first day of our deliveries, my team was touched by the generous joy of a little girl named Leidi.
