Christmas Day
Dec 23, 2011
Merry Christmas!
We know that this season can be filled with traffic and crowds, but it is nice once the presents are all wrapped and under the tree, to be able to enjoy the purpose of the season. Christmas is about advent, Emmauel (God with us). The manger scene is about presence, not presents.
At Grace Vineyard, we have two ways to celebrate advent this year:
As is our tradition here at Grace, we will have our candle-light Christmas service. Many people count this service as one of the most special times of the year. Together, we will sing the carols, and worship with our extended family of God together in the candlelight.
On Christmas Day (Sunday) we will celebrate as a church in our homes with our families using our "Christmas Service in a Box" packages that many of us have set under our trees in anticipation. If you haven't received them, you can still pick one up by Christmas Eve. Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth, but it is also a time for families, and instead of competing with all of our family traditions on Christmas morning, we want to honor them. Christmas Day worship can happen at home just as much as it happens in a church sanctuary.

We hope you have a great Christmas, and we can wait to hear how God has made himself Immanuel in you and your family this Christmas.
